Job Description
ICF is seeking a writer/editor to support high-profile health communications projects for the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This position will be responsible for researching, writing, and editing fact sheets, meeting summaries, and web content on a variety of complementary and integrative health-related topics. The writer/editor will also be responsible for populating a content management system (CMS) and performing quality assurance tasks. This position can be remote in the MD/VA/DC area with occasional on-site work in Rockville, MD required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research, write, edit, and QC complementary and integrative health-related content aimed toward health professionals
- Write and edit plain language materials on a variety of complementary and integrative health-related topics
- Create meeting summaries for NIH meetings
- Populate and update website content using a CMS
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- 4+ years of experience writing and editing about science or health-related topics for health care professionals and the general public
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience in managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision
- Fluency in Spanish required
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Master's degree in science, a health-related, or a writing-related field
- Knowledge of complementary and integrative health-related topics
- Knowledge of plain language writing principles
- Experience interacting with government clients
- Experience using a CMS
Professional Skills:
- High level of organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and adjust to shifting work priorities
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work well under strict deadlines and high production requirements
- Ability to work as part of a team and support other team members
- Ability and willingness to learn new computer software applications as necessary

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$63,511.00 - $107,968.00
